A Control Panel is a web-based user interface via which you can manage numerous aspects of your web presence. For instance, you can set up or change site files, create and check e-mails, manage databases, check visitor stats and so on. Those things are performed via buttons and menus in an internet browser and the Control Panel may also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the administrative area associated with your web hosting account. Most of the Control Panels available will allow you to handle all hosting-related matters, but you will usually need a different system to take care of payments or to get a new domain if the company offers domain registrations. Depending on the platform they employ, you may be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to diagnose a problem also, or you may need to use a 3rd system.
